HOW TO: Make Your Own In-House Cafe Latte
Apr2608Apr 26, 08

I was recently given an array of coffee-making appliances to quell my thirst for homemade coffee drinks. After much trial and error, I have created a method by which anyone can make their own Café Latte! The steps are provided below:
-
Step 1: Find the three required appliances
- Coffee maker (you have one if you are still reading)
- Coffee grinder (I like Sunbeam's Mr Coffee)
- Milk Frother (Go and buy the handheld Latte-Whip - it's unbelievable)
-
Step 2: Make the espresso
Grind 1/3 cup of dark roast coffee beans and make coffee using all of the grinds produced, with 11/2 cups of water. -
Step 3: Froth the milk
Using your new milk frother, froth as much milk as will fill 1/3 of your mug, and pour that froth into your mug. Then froth another 1/3 mug of milk and set aside. -
Step 4: Mixing the drink
Pour the freshly brewed espresso (the brown liquid in your coffee maker) in a zigzag pattern over the frothed milk in your mug. Stir the froth-coffee mixture until it mixes nicely. Now pour the other 1/3 mug of frothed milk into the 2/3 full mug. -
Step 5: Chocolate, or cinnamon?
Optionally, you can choose to top off this great drink with a drizzling of chocolate syrup, chocolate powder or cinnamon.
