Google Webmaster Tools Redesign

Google has just released a preview version of the new Webmaster Tools, and on first impression the redesign looks very different. The post on Google Webmaster Central heralds a newly re-thought site selection interface - what they don't mention is that they have removed features in order to simplify the design. For many utilities, this is a great way to help users focus on the intended task. A small number of tools, however, don't benefit from interface simplification - generally those that are targeted toward the developer or power-user communities. Here are a few images of what the new UI looks like - very washed out, and very static (almost no AJAX).
